Hi <<First Name>>!  I needed to get more posts written this week than normal since I signed up for two guest post spots and have a couple of more blogs to handle.  Here are some tricks that have helped me cut down my writing time from about 75 minutes for 500 words to about 30-45 minutes each:
  • Brainstorm ideas for 5 minutes before you start writing.  Then look at your list, pick a topic, and go.
  • Set a timer.  I set one to 45 minutes and just started writing.  Even after some quick editing and a reread out loud, I finished a 550 word post in just 40 minutes.
  • Schedule something else so you have a deadline.  I am a natural procrastinator but I want to go to Galveston tonight with friends...that pushed me to do everything I needed to get done in 6 hours or less.
Let me know if you have any other great tips!  I can put them together in a post and credit everyone if I receive enough.  :-)

If you have any specific questions for me, just reply to this email and ask away!  I highlight one or two questions every week. If you wish to be anonymous, please just let me know in your email.

Michelle asked, "How did you get started blogging? Are there certain copyright laws to follow, ie: When I have my blog up and running, can I quote something someone else said, as long as I give them credit?"

I got started with a free blog on Blogger.com.  Don't do that.  If you want to grow, buy a $10-$15 domain name, get hosting for like $60-$100 a year, and start a site on Wordpress.  I figured that out in 6 weeks and ended up paying about $100-$150 to get transferred over to where I should have started in the beginning (that was on top of the money for a domain name and hosting).  Yes, if you quote someone, link to where you found their material.  Better yet, I rarely quote people that I don't actually know so I have less liability.  In general, give credit where credit is due and you'll be okay.  In case anyone is interested, my eBook actually covers how to start a site, what disclaimers to add, and how to grow, lol.

Thanks for being the best readers ever!
