BFS Newsletter #76 - January 2013 Income Update
Hi <<First Name>>!  I hope all of you have had a great start to 2013!  Over here, January was crazy busy, but mainly in the personal life part.  Over the holidays, Mr. BFS and I met a few more awesome people and now have a pretty solid friend base to keep in touch with all week.  :-)  It may be weird to talk about having friends, but I am just extremely thankful.  I'm not sure if you've noticed too, but it is way harder to meet people as an adult than it was when I was a kid.  People are generally harder to get to know.  And I am a pretty what-you-see-is-what-you-get type, so that can be off-putting for some.  So spending a bunch of evenings and weekends developing close friendships has been amazing!

Crystal Shards

It is the beginning of a new month.  So as you may know, here is my complete online income and expense breakdown of January 2013:

January 2013 Breakdown of Income and Expenses
  • BFS - $2070.00
  • Other Blogs - $87.50
  • Affiliate Ads - $0 (so sad...)
  • eBook - $204.00
  • Crystal for Hire (Freelancing and Blog Advertising) - $5790.64
  • Minus Expenses - $753.02
  • TOTAL - $7399.12

The rest of our income comes from renting out our old house, renting out two of our spare bedrooms, and hubby's hobby jobs.  He works from home with me, but he is also a high school varsity football official from August through December (if they are lucky and get playoff games) and now a softball official from February through April.

DISCLAIMER:  Please keep in mind that this income comes from 60-100 hour work weeks divided between me and Mr. BFS and we do end up paying 30-40% in income taxes since we do have to cover the employer's part as well. I also was working 100+ hours a week personally for nearly a year before I was able to leave my day job and do this full time. I just wanted to be clear that this isn't easy money in any respect. I want to inspire everyone to accomplish their dreams, no matter what it takes. I am not saying it will be simple or fast. It just can be done.

Thanks for being the best readers ever!
