BFS Newsletter #78 - Personal Safety

Hi <<First Name>>!  My younger sister told me Wednesday about a coworker of hers that walked out of a restaurant to find his truck put up on cinder blocks with all 4 wheels missing - and he was just in the museum district.  That sucks.  And then today, a cop car popped up out of no where while I was unloading a Walmart cart into my own car.  The police woman just wanted to remind me to put my purse into the car before unloading anything else so it wouldn't be snatched while my back was turned.  Seeing as a passenger in her car could have easily reached out and done just that, she seemed to be making a good point. 

Overall, try to keep in mind that you can be a positive person about the world, but make sure to keep an eye out for those outliers that make the world a worse place.  I have decided to go back to using a travel wallet around my neck and taking out a purse way less often.  No reason to make myself more of a target than necessary.  And it's bulky anyway...
