BFS Newsletter #82 - Saving Time on Taxes
Hi <<First Name>>!  If you are filing in the USA, there is about a month left to send in your taxes.  Thanks to late paperwork every year, hubby usually does our taxes in early March.  But these weekends have been packed, so we are aiming to have them completed March 24th.  Here are a few ways to hopefully make the process faster.
  • Keep excellent records if you own your own business or have a side hobby job.
  • Make a checklist of what forms you will need.
  • Keep all tax forms in a single pile together that is super easy to find.
  • If you do your taxes yourself, do them in progression.  Start at the top of the 1040 and anytime you have to go to another form, fill it out completely, then come back to the 1040 and continue this way until you are finished.  My husband says this ensures that you complete all necessary forms and helps you set a rythym.

Lance at Money Life and More asked, "How do you get through the hard times and push through it when things are discouraging or seem hopeless?"

I try to only allow myself so much time to wallow, then I force myself to think of the great people and things in my life.  I do enjoy my job more than ever before, even sucky weeks.  I also have amazing friends and family to hang out with no matter what is going on.  My husband and I try to pick each other up when we are down as well.  And even my dogs can sense when I am sad and put their cute heads in my lap.  So I force myself to push through the hard stuff and promise myself that the good stuff down the road will make up for it.  Oh, and chocolate/sweets/donuts....yep, crap food gets me through everything.  ;-)

Thanks for being the best readers ever!
