Hi <<First Name>>! Okay, so I got bit by a dog again yesterday. A large Great Pyrenees that was doing fine during our initial meeting and then got pissed when I removed his walking harness. And this one isn't a little finger tear like a couple of months ago...it took 6 stitches on 2 different main punctures and a few deep scratches all on my right forearm.
Mom, if you are reading this, I didn't tell you yesterday because I'm continuing pet sitting and I felt a bit stupid that this happened...again. You can call me for the deets. :-)
All in all, days like yesterday make you think about your choice of careers...yet, if you still love what you do (or at least like it more than anything else so far), you stay. I had the afternoon off yesterday, tackled a 6 pet job early in the evening, and stuck to my ibuprofen regime. What doesn't kill me will make me slightly grumpy/frustrated for 7-10 days until the stitches are out...

Reader Question
After last week's post, Helen commented, "I like the idea of a brain reset. I think I might need that now. I have a client I need to raise my rates on but that’s a tough thing to do!"
Do it! I put off raising my pet sitting visit rates for like 6 months from $15 to $20 with the clients that started with me, but it reached the point that I had to since all of my other jobs were paying $20-$30 per visit. I texted the 5 different people, had a stomach ache about losing their business, and got 3 texts back that it was cool with them and 2 texts back about jobs coming up that they forgot to call me about (and the new rate was fine). Do it!
Thanks for being the best readers ever!
