BFS Newsletter #74 - Trying to Grow BFS
Hi <<First Name>>!  I got a little lazy last year and stopped putting as much effort into BFS.  No more!  This year, I will be concentrating on growing BFS once again.  My first steps have been:
  • Commenting on other sites at least a few times a day.
  • Writing a guest post for other sites at least 2-3 times a month.
  • Writing meatier posts.  My new house was on my mind for the majority of 2012...time to get back to talking about our money most of the time.
  • Thinking about becoming a regular staff writer again.  I had 11 positions a week in 2011 and burned myself out.  Maybe staff writing for a really great blog or two each week will keep me in the field without suffering burnout.

Win the Monthly Prize!

Just to say thanks for being part of the BFS community, I give away an Amazon gift card or Paypal cash AND a free copy of How I Make Money Blogging to one lucky BFS Newsletter Subscriber every month.  To enter this month's, please jump over to this post and leave a comment- only one comment per person please! A winner will be chosen and notified at the beginning of next month.

Ask Crystal

If you have any specific questions for me, just reply to this email and ask away!  I highlight one or two questions every week. If you wish to be anonymous, please just let me know in your email.

Kari asked, "Are you making any big changes (i.e. offering new services, creating new blogs) to increase/diversify your income in 2013?"

My plan right now is to concentrate more on the projects I have and less on expanding.  So I will be trying to grow BFS, HIMMB, and my co-owned sites mostly.  Although Mr. BFS is trying to convince me to write a second How I Make Blogging eBook.  I'm mulling over ideas but am not sure if I have another eBook in me, lol.  On top of all of that, I also want to reach out more to direct advertisers this year for our business AND delve into affiliate advertising for BFS.  I feel like I am overlooking opportunities because I don't trust other people keeping up with the data like click-throughs.  But Pat Flynn makes a ton through affiliates and I am just going to have to suck it up and jump in...

Thanks for being the best readers ever!
